While the “buy-low, sell-high” theme still applies, finding the right players to target is really more about future matchups. That can coincide with recent performances, but it doesn’t have to. For instance, David Montgomery, who’s mentioned below, hasn’t been particularly good lately, is dealing with a concussion that will keep him out of Week 10, and has a bye in Week 11. However, his schedule after that is ultra-favorable, so if you have to overpay a little to get him, it might be worth it. Fortunately, he still provides a potential “buy-low” opportunity if his manager isn’t looking ahead, but at this point in the season, you shouldn’t necessarily be worried about getting the best deal – you should be worried about having the best team when it really counts.

Remember, values can change quickly in fantasy football, so don’t get too locked in on a certain trade target. Change your thinking as the trends change, but don’t be afraid to strike if you have a good offer on the table. –  Matt Lutovsky

Week 11 Fantasy Football Stock Watch: Buy-low candidates

Derrick Henry (RB – TEN)

Allen Robinson (WR – CHI)

David Montgomery (RB – CHI)

Lamar Jackson (QB – BAL)

If you’re looking like a playoff team, a trade for Jackson makes a ton of sense. From Weeks 11 through 16, he’ll play the Titans, Cowboys, Browns, Jaguars, and Giants. The lone bad matchup in those weeks is against the Steelers in Week 12, which is before the fantasy playoffs begin. Jackson is a prime buy-low quarterback.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Stock Watch: Sell-high candidates

Dalvin Cook (RB – MIN)

Look, this doesn’t mean sell Cook no matter what, but if you’re able to get a combination of Derrick Henry and a receiver like Tyler Boyd in exchange for Cook, you may want to consider it. The playoff schedule is brutal for Cook, as he’ll have to play the Bucs, Bears, and Saints run defenses in Weeks 14-16. Those are all bottom-five matchups for running backs, so while Cook will still have value, he won’t be the most valuable running back when it matters most.

Deshaun Watson (QB – HOU)

Some might think it’s an opportunity to buy low on Watson after playing in a wind-filled game against the Browns. Well, if you’re looking ahead to the playoffs, you shouldn’t rely on top-six production out of him. In Weeks 14 and 15 he’ll play the Bears and the Colts, two of the worst matchups for quarterbacks. Between both teams, they’ve combined to allow just two top-10 quarterback performances all season.

WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Ronald Jones (RB – TB)

Jerry Jeudy (WR – DEN)

You won’t find a bigger Jeudy fan than me, but if you’re looking ahead on his fantasy schedule, there are going to be tough times. Starting in Week 12, he’ll play the Chiefs (fourth-worst matchup for wide receivers), Panthers (ninth worst), Bills (seventh worst), and then Chargers (eighth worst).
