Tucker is one of four kickers on bye this week, and every year his owners struggle with whether to drop him or carry two kickers for a week. If you read this article regularly, then you already know our answer: Drop Tucker. Yes, he’s one of the best kickers of all-time, but unless it’s the fantasy playoffs, then it’s never worth carrying two kickers. That roster spot is better suited for a handcuff RB or matchup-based streamer (either for Week 10 or Week 11). Plenty of other kickers can give you adequate production over the rest of the season, including Cade York, who averages just 1.6 fewer fantasy points per game than Tucker and is available in over 86 percent of leagues.
Yes, it will be annoying watching Tucker have big games on another team late in the season, but such is life. If you stay on top of the matchups and rankings, you can find a solid replacement every week.

Tucker isn’t the only bye-week kicker who will need to be replaced. Greg Zuerlein, Evan McPherson, and Nick Folk are also idle this week, taking away four top-12 kickers in terms of fantasy points per game.

Fortunately, there are a few widely available sleepers this week, including Harrison Butker (vs. Jaguars), Matt Prater (@ Rams), Cairo Santos (@ Lions in Week 10), Ka’imi Fairbairn (@ Giants), Chase McLaughlin (@ Raiders), and Robbie Gould (vs. Chargers). All have matchups against defenses in the top 12 in fantasy points per game to kickers, and in the cases of Prater, Santos, and McLaughlin, they’re all kicking in stadiums with a roof.
WEEK 10 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em
There aren’t many indoor matchups this week, as Daniel Carlson (@ Colts) is the only top kicker getting that luxury. Matt Gay (vs. Cardinals) is also playing in a stadium with a roof, but SoFi Stadium is technically open air.

The lack of indoor matchups makes life a little tougher for those looking for “safe” kickers. You can try to play the matchups with the kickers we mentioned above, but when in doubt, just go with the guys who have been steady this year. If they can consistently hit from 50-plus yards, then all the better. Just don’t keep Justin Tucker on your roster, too. That’s embarrassing for all parties involved.
