I don’t know if I’ll have any effect. I’m always hopeful that I can make a difference.
Previously, whether I was dealing with a Republican or a Democratic president, I always felt that they were kind of up to the job, basically. And this president, to me, doesn’t seem that way at all. It’s very scary to me that he occupies the office.
I am. The thing is, though, I really hit both sides. When Clinton was president … when he was fooling around with Monica Lewinsky, I did so many cartoons on him.
We’re in a dark time in history now. The country is needlessly divided.
It’s easier to have an unpopular president. Cartooning is a negative art form, so we kind of enjoy that.
