The hit occurred after Wideman got slammed against the boards in Wednesday’s home game against the Predators. Wideman was skating toward his bench looking a little dazed. But before he reached the bench, Wideman lifted his arms and shoved in the back, causing Henderson to land facedown on the ice.

Wideman argued the collision was accidental, but it appears NHL disciplinarians felt otherwise. Wideman could face a stiff fine and an automatic 10-game suspension under Rule 40.3. He will have a hearing after the All-Star Game.
