Hours after the coaches poll push Alabama to No. 1 on points, AP voters left the Seminoles in first place. They gave them more first-place votes and more total points. But, the Tide came in just 13 points back.

No. 3 Oregon secured two first-place votes and was 65 point out of No. 1. There were few surprises, as Mississippi fell after its loss. Nebraska left the top 25 after losing to Minnesota. In fact, the Cornhuskers were in good company, with Southern Cal and LSU also on the outside looking in.

The only numbers than mean anything will be released Tuesday. And Alabama likely will retain its place as No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
