If he earns $200 million from the Pacquiao fight, Mayweather would be well over halfway to making $1 billion off his boxing matches, according to Yahoo Sports.

This does not include endorsements or appearances of any kind. Just ring earnings. Take a minute to soak that in.

According to Forbes, Mayweather made $224 million from 2012 through 2014. If he makes that again during the next two years, plus the $200 million, he could easily reach $1 billion by the time he retires.

Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, said that Mayweather made it a goal a few years ago to reach $1 billion.

“Oh, we most definitely had a lot of conversations about that, and it wasn’t just shooting for the moon type of stuff,” Ellerbe said. “It’s been one of his long-term goals and, obviously, he’s made tremendous progress getting there.”

Mayweather has two more fights on his contract and faces Pacquiao in Las Vegas at 47-0. If he decides to try and go 50-0, he could be within throwing distance of his goal.
