The parade was organized by the local Rotary Club. It was held Dec. 14 in Cocoa Beach, a coastal city east of Orlando. Chad Neilsen, director of infection prevention at UF Health Jacksonville, said the hospital staff are “frustrated.” “They are tired. The hospital has 309 beds, according to its website, but it’s not clear how many are reserved for intensive care patients....

Donald Edward Mullins, of Tarpon Springs, was detained by deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning and charged with simple battery. The incident took place in New Port Richey at approximately 7:20 p.m. on November 4, an arrest report said. According to police, the victim, a 12-year-old girl, said Mullins had pushed her to the ground between three and four times against her will. The suspect is a coach for a separate soccer team but had joined a scheduled practice game being held for the juvenile victim’s team at the time of the incident, deputies recorded....

According to WKMG, ‘Alex’ was first spotted by WKMG traffic reporter Steve Montiero, who saw a man wearing baggy gym clothes climb over a barbed wire fence before making his climb up the station’s transmission tower. Stopping at the tower’s midway point, he eventually ascended all the way to its peak. Staying perched in the tower for over eight hours, “Alex” remained still and silent while police attempted to negotiate with him....
The mother, identified as Nicolshia Washington, 25, died at Mease Countryside Hospital after the shooting at her apartment on Sunday, according to a News Channel 8 report. According to the Clearwater Police Department in Florida, Washington’s seven-year-old daughter was sent to a hospital with injuries from the incident. Authorities said the shooting happened after Washington’s current boyfriend Stacy Cross got into an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Lavaris Delapierre. Delapierre was dropping their daughter off at Washington’s apartment before the incident took place....
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the incident occurred on Wednesday night at 7:22 p.m. local time at 2216 18th Ave. South. A press release from the police department states that after police arrived, they transported an adult woman to a local hospital with serious injuries. In an update to the release published at 8:49 p.m., police announced that the woman, who was identified as 21-year-old K’Mia Simmons, had died as a result of her injuries....
