Willie Daniel Littlefield, 55, called 911 to say there were explosives in a car in the parking lot of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Thonotosassa, Florida, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the church, which is located along the 301 Highway, along with a bomb squad after the threat was reported. Littlefield made the call at around 1.30 p.m. on Sunday and claimed to have planted an explosive device in the back of a car that was parked in the church’s lot....

Fox 13 was one of the stations that received the message from David Ashworth, 51, who claimed that the male hotel manager in Tampa “double charged his credit cards and kicks people out.” Police said that Ashworth used his girlfriend’s email address to write: “When I take [the manager] out you will say I’m the bad guy,” the Sarasota Herald Tribune reported. A Florida man has delighted the internet with his unusual photograph for his driver’s license, after shaving just half of his face. A post on Reddit showing a pair of licenses is going viral, after it was posted to the site’s Funny forum by Slinkyjosh on Monday, amassing more than 18,000 likes. The licenses for the Sunshine State show a man with a giant bushy beard, later identified as Clinton Brentwood Lee, on the right hand side of his face, while the left is clean-shaved....

Gregory Carrasquillo was among the friends and family members present for the sentencing hearing of his wife, Crystal Carrasquillo, 24, for child abuse at the Charlotte County Justice Center in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was ultimately sentenced to 10 years in prison, having previously opted out of a trial by jury in August and pleading guilty to one count of aggravated child abuse. Lawrence Kiehart, 39, was taken into custody early on Tuesday morning on charges including child abuse, false imprisonment and resisting arrest, inmate records show. He was detained after Brevard County police responded to an alleged violation of a no-contact order at a home in Titusville around 7:30 p.m the previous night. Officer Matthew Rubenstein from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) was on a night patrol in the Big Cypress National Preserve when he bumped into Alex McDuffie, an officer for the Python Elimination Program, FWC said in a Facebook post. The Python Elimination Program’s purpose is to take “aggressive action to protect the Everglades and eliminate invasive pythons from across the landscape,” according to its website. McDuffie had just discovered a Burmese python nursery, and was on the look out for more hatchlings....
