Because of the way baseball is trending, strikeouts are easier to find than ever, but no matter how much fantasy owners crave low ERAs and WHIPs and a high likelihood to get wins or quality starts, the most reliable stat remains the easiest to find – Ks. That makes our job a little tougher, but it just means we need to focus even more on things that might not be traditional fantasy stats, such as BB rate, HR rate, BABIP, FIP, etc....

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve looked at the trends that we are seeing in the Mock Draft Army. For those not familiar with the Army, allow me to quickly share: To avoid all the auto-drafting and computer players we see in some of the big sites’ mocks, I run about around 10 mock drafts across all different styles and formats each week. Half the draft room is filled with industry people from Fantasy Alarm, SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio and a variety of other fantasy sports websites....
It’s a little too early in the season to start thinking about matchups for kickers, but one thing to note: Week 3 features five games in stadiums with a roof (Falcons at Cowboys, Bucs at Texans, Steelers at Rams, 49ers at Cardinals, and Broncos at Lions). That’s obviously good news for kickers in those games, so if you’re looking for a sleeper, particularly for daily fantasy football contests, try one of those options (except for Josh Scobee, who has enough trouble with PATs, let alone field goals)....

And it’s not as if it’s only those four TEs who might be out this week. We all know Delanie Walker, Greg Olsen, and Evan Engram – three of our preseason top-eight TEs – are on the shelf, and both Trey Burton and Howard’s replacement, Cameron Brate, are on bye. It’s very possible Gronk and Kelce will play this week, especially with Kelce walking off the field under his own power late in Monday night’s game, but things are still rough in the tight end world....

Even though the bye weeks are over, our full free agent list is packed with potential streamers for next week. Obviously, this is most important for TEs and D/STs, but there are several WRs and even a QB who could help if you don’t like the matchups of your usual starters. There are also some must-have handcuffs, including Nyheim Hines, who, like the aforementioned Jackson, could take advantage of an injury....
As is always the case in Week 1, there were several surprising performances from wide receivers (Nelson Agholor, Kenny Golladay, Cooper Kupp), injuries (Johnson, Allen Robinson, Danny Woodhead) opening the door for backups (Williams, Allen Hurns, Buck Allen), and big games from random tight ends (Jesse James, Charles Clay). Do all the targets, touches, and touchdowns mean anything? Maybe, maybe not – but you should at least be aware of them....
Because it’s Week 1, it doesn’t take much to get on our full free agent list. Anyone who scored a touchdown or had a bunch of touches is potentially intriguing. It’s likely a few of these guys won’t be heard from again all year, but it’s just as likely one or two of these players becomes a fantasy staple in lineups all season. And just in case you’re already playing the streaming game, we have some matchup-based D/STs at the end of this list....
