Of course, not all sleepers are created equal. There are “sleeper starters,” i.e. the guys ranked as 12th-best at the position when they could easily finish fifth or sixth; there’s the “generally underrated sleepers,” i.e. the guys who could have breakout seasons; and there’s the “one-category sleepers,” which is pretty self-explanatory. We’ll highlight a few from every category as we look at some of the deeper options at second base....

The answer is when plenty of good options are widely available. That’s the situation with quarterbacks these days in fantasy football. It used to be that there were 10-12 legitimate starting options out there. This year, we could have over two-thirds of the league check in as worthy fantasy starters.
