Of course, not all sleepers are created equal. There are “sleeper starters,” i.e. the guys ranked as 12th-best at the position when they could easily finish fifth or sixth; there’s the “generally underrated sleepers,” i.e. the guys who could have breakout seasons; and there’s the “one-category sleepers,” which is pretty self-explanatory. The answer is when plenty of good options are widely available. That’s the situation with quarterbacks these days in fantasy football. It used to be that there were 10-12 legitimate starting options out there.
