Boynton Beach police said the person was struck right before 8 a.m., but no other information has been released, according to spokeswoman Stephanie Slater. The most recent death added to the four involving Brightline trains in the past 29 days. On Dec. 7, a person was struck dead by a train in North Miami Beach. Just four days later, another person was hit and killed in Hollywood. The school board voted Tuesday night to continue its mask mandate in which students can only opt out of donning a face covering with a doctor’s note, violating DeSantis’ order. Under the governor’s executive order issued July 30, students can decline wearing a mask without a doctor’s note or medical permissions. Gainesville police responded to the home at approximately 6 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting involving a 3-year-old. Detective Sergeant John Pandak told Newsweek the child obtained the firearm from an unlocked toolbox inside the home. The Pima County County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday that the remains located at the Pima Canyon Trail on December 31 belonged to 66-year-old Steven Mark Brashear. In a news release, the sheriff’s department said the manner of death has not yet been determined. The Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office said Brashear’s autopsy has not been completed yet.
