Let’s start with the potential streamers. The Raiders (vs. Bears), Cowboys (vs. Giants), Cardinals (vs. 49ers), Titans (vs. Jaguars), and Vikings (vs. Lions) all have solid matchups on paper, though the Titans let everyone down in an even better matchup last week against the Jets. The Vikings have disappointed most of the year, too. The Packers (@ Bengals), Falcons (vs. Jets), and Eagles (@ Panthers) are also in play based on fantasy points allowed to D/STs, but none are particularly strong defensively....

Only three clubs will be playing twice this week and they each have their drawbacks whether it be reliability, minutes, or match-ups. That said, double game week players should be thought of as lottery tickets. You are betting that they, in two matches, will be able to outscore those with just one. What does one look for when ranking kickers? Glad you asked. Matchups matter, though it’s tough to know how good or bad a kicker’s matchup is, especially in Week 1. Playing indoors or outdoors matters, but with the weather still nice and fields in what should be pristine condition, it doesn’t matter as much as later in the season. Team offense and a strong leg also matter, but ultimately the biggest factor is something we can’t account for: Luck....
