OK, it’s not exciting at all, but both Blankenship’s demotion and Butker’s injury actually mattered to some owners last week. That’s more than we can say for most kickers right now, as most fantasy owners are still in wait-and-see mode with their kicker, regardless of how they’ve fared in the first two weeks. That’s probably the right strategy. The more proven kickers should bounce back assuming they’re on decent teams....

It’s tough to find a position that operates like this. Defense and tight end might have odd ownership/top-12 imbalance early in the season, but kicker will continue to be anyone’s guess all year long. Of course, we have to try to make sense of it all going into every week, which is why we clearly don’t adhere to current rankings when trying to project for the future. We’ll start off by identifying the QBs we likely won’t see on teams with little to play for. With the Buccaneers clinching the NFC South and the Giants locked into their wild-card spot, there’s a chance we won’t see Tom Brady (@ Falcons in Week 18), and Daniel Jones (@ Eagles) take many snaps. Brian Daboll brushed off the idea of resting starters, so Jones could start, but Tyrod Taylor’s also likely to see some playing time if the Giants pull their starters early....

This spring training, all eyes will be on the Mets’ Matt Harvey, who underwent Tommy Johnson surgery (TJS) in late-October of 2013. He sat out all of last year, but all signs point to him being ready for opening day. Given his age (26), the Mets will likely limit his innings, though an exact number is unknown. Woods, Rahm (a winner at Torrey Pines in 2017) and Morikawa will tee off on the 10th hole of the North Course at 12:40 p.m. ET on Thursday. A 36-hole course, Torrey Pines differs from other courses on the PGA Tour as golfers split the first two rounds between the North and South Courses, then play the final two rounds on the South Course....

The Child Safeguarding Practice Review report for the county of Lancashire said social care officials received information that two young children had “been injected with heroin to make them sleep” by their 37-year-old father in late 2019. It said the two children, given the fake names Chloe and Harper in the report, were taken for medical examinations, where they tested positive for the opiate. Following the positive tests, a rapid review meeting was held where social care officials concluded the children had been seriously harmed....

During a live episode of the podcast ‘Healthy You: Surviving a Pandemic,’ hosted by George Washington University, Fauci said, “It’s not bogus because he has a vaccine, what’s bogus is to say you have a vaccine that’s safe and effective,” when asked about Russian President Vladamir Putin’s claims of a coronavirus vaccine. “There’s a big difference between having a vaccine and proving in trials, that are really well-designed, randomized placebo-controlled trials, that when you’re starting to give it widely to hundreds of millions of people, that you’re giving a safe and effective vaccine,” he said on Wednesday....

Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has long been a target by conservatives during the entire pandemic, especially during the presidency of Donald Trump. He is being targeted once again following the release of thousands of his emails, published as part of a Freedom of Information Act request by a number of media outlets. Among some of the lines that have been highlighted is the suggestion that COVID-19 may have been created in a lab in Wuhan, China, with many conspiracy theorists claiming it was concocted to be used as a biological weapon on the world....
