For starters, Carter’s .267 BABIP in 2014 was lower than his .283 career mark and significantly lower than the .295 and .311 he posted in that category in ‘12 and ‘13, respectively....

Catcher: Jason Castro, Astros (268.73). 20-homer catchers don’t grow on trees and Castro is a good bet to get there in ‘14....

We have Alex Bregman at the top of our rankings, but many will value the higher-SB upside of Francisco Lindor or Trevor Story more. That’s fine, as both could pop as many or more homers than Bregman, but we expect the Astros star to hit for a better average and produce noticeably more RBIs. Bottom line – you’re in great shape if you start your draft with any of those three, so it comes down to how you like to build your team....

Who’s Not: Carlos Ruiz predictably regressed after the best season of his career in 2012. It’s unlikely he’ll come close to those numbers again. … Is age catching up to Jimmy Rollins? The 35-year-old shortstop saw his power drop from 23 homers in ‘12 to just six last year despite playing in 160 games. Who’s Hurt: Ryan Howard played 80 games in 2013 before undergoing knee surgery. He appears to be healthy, but at age 34 and having played just 151 games combined the last two years, fantasy owners should not bank on a full campaign from him....

Who’s Not: Bumgarner has emerged, but rotation mates Matt Cain (8-10, 4.00 ERA) and Tim Lincecum (10-14, 4.37) have lost their touch. The problem is both pitchers struggled at home last year. Cain had a 4.70 ERA; Lincecum had a 4.28 ERA. … Marco Scutaro hit .297 last season, but his run total dropped by 30. Scutaro doesn’t steal bases and doesn’t have power, so he needs to score runs to stay in mixed leagues....

For those unfamiliar with the concept of a double game week, this means that certain players, in this case Egyptian ones will play two matches in one “week” which gives them an advantage over all other players and the opportunity to rack up serious Fantasy points. Obviously Mohamed Salah would have been in just about everyone’s squad had he made it out of the Champions League final unharmed, but unfortunately that’s not the case with reports that he will miss their first match against Uruguay....

Juventus dominated their encounter against Barcelona and it shows, with five players making it into the Team of the Week following their 3-0 result against the Catalans. In the other mammoth tie, Bayern Munich fell to Real Madrid but one of their key men distinguished himself running the game from midfield. A stalwart defence formed the backbone of Atletico Madrid’s 1-0 win over Leicester City meanwhile, while a rising star continues to shine as he masterminded Monaco’s 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund....

GK: Robert Elliot - Newcastle - 1 Game, 3 Saves, 1 Clean Sheet = 8 Points Eliott is the cheapest regularly starting goalkeeper in the Goal game and, as such, is at least worth some consideration. With two consecutive clean sheets behind Newcastle, and two bottom 10 attacks ahead, the 31-year-old seems an ideal budget ‘keeper. DF: Jamal Lascelles - Newcastle - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Clean Sheet = 14 Points...
