We have seen a rash of injuries over the first five weeks, highlighted by Indy’s reigning rushing champ Jonathan Taylor (vs. Jaguars in Week 6). Taylor (ankle) missed the Colts’ Week 5 tilt with the Broncos, but he hopes to return in a juicy divisional matchup with Jacksonville. With Nyheim Hines (concussion) also dinged up, it could be the Deon Jackson show. As we always say, injuries are a curse to some but a blessing for others....

First off, those dreaded bye weeks. Some powerhouse squads will be off this weekend, including the Vikings (Dalvin Cook), Eagles (Miles Sanders), Bills (Devin Singletary), and the Rams (Darell Henderson Jr. and the ghost of Cam Akers). The good news: All four of these teams have good run defenses, so at least they won’t stand in the way of our RBs who actually are playing. The top of the PPR charts at the RB position looks similar to what we’ve seen all season — and for that matter, throughout the recent history of the NFL....

Let’s start with this season’s biggest “breakouts:” Tyler Conklin (vs. Dolphins in Week 5) and Hayden Hurst (@ Ravens). Both are seeing regular targets and finding a way to produce seven-plus PPR points each week. This week, in favorable matchups against two of the NFL’s worst pass defenses, both are borderline “must-starts.” Will Dissly (@ Saints) is another 2022 breakout, but his lack of targets hurts him in PPR formats....

Despite finishing with just four catches (five targets) and 28 yards in his 2022 debut, Kittle (vs. Rams in Week 4) remains a top-five threat at this position whenever he’s on the field. Dallas Goedert (vs. Jaguars) isn’t far behind the “Big Five” who head up this position most weeks, but a shin injury has him in doubt ahead of Week 4. We were at the point where Kyle Pitts (vs....

One thing that TE has going for it right now is the lack of notable injuries. Dalton Schultz returned last week (though you might not have noticed), and there were no issues this past Sunday outside of Cameron Brate going into concussion protocol. Even without injuries, this is the last week this position will be at “full strength” until Week 12 when there are no byes (though there are teams off in Weeks 13 and 14)....

George Kittle is the biggest name missing from our rankings because of bye weeks, but Pat Freiermuth, Greg Dulcich, and maybe even Dalton Schultz also carry some fantasy cache. That’s not even counting David Njoku, who’s also on bye but missed last week because of an ankle injury. Fortunately, most of the top TEs are still in action this week. Perhaps even more important, all of the top TE matchups are still in action, as the Giants are the only idle team in the top 15 in terms of fantasy points per game (FPPG) allowed to the position....

Robert Woods (@ Bills), CeeDee Lamb (vs. Bengals), Mike Williams (@ Chiefs), Darnell Mooney (@ Packers), Diontae Johnson (vs. Patriots), DeVonta Smith (vs. Vikings), Amari Cooper (vs. Jets), and Allen Robinson (vs. Falcons) are among the WRs who failed to meet expectations in Week 1. It’s tough to already proclaim these WRs as busts, but a low target share for all but Johnson and Lamb isn’t a great sign of their season-long prospects (nor is Dak Prescott’s hand injury for Lamb)....
