Quarterbacks don’t offer much value as rookies unless they’re starting and showing some dual-threat ability. Running backs need a healthy share of touches on good rushing attacks, while wideouts and tight ends need to be on teams where they can take advantage of vacated targets in trustworthy passing games. With all that in mind — and without worrying about real draft-round status — here is a very early look at the potential rookie sleepers and busts:...

Bill O’Brien has replaced Gary Kubiak as head coach and will even coordinate the offense. O’Brien’s track record with the Patriots offense from 2007-11 suggests he’ll be much more pass-happy than the run-centric Kubiak. That seems to bode well for DeAndre Hopkins, but he’s already a popular breakout candidate and likely won’t be much of a value on draft day. It’s also important to note that this Texans offense is not those Patriots offenses....

If your season is over after either winning or losing a title last week, it also would not be a bad time to get your final fix before the NFL playoffs by playing DFS or setting up an extra mini league. Beyond the usual late-season injury and COVID concerns in 2021-22, however, you need to worry about teams resting players. The Packers, who have clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, are the one team guaranteed to sit starters on Sunday, including Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones and Davante Adams, and maybe even AJ Dillon....

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers. The Panthers finally unleashed Newton on Sunday. After being restricted on the ground through the first two games, OC Mike Shula dialed up more designed runs for Newton, who rushed seven times for 45 yards and a TD. That helped open up passing lanes against a bad Giants defense, as Newton also threw for three touchdowns. Though he’s still an erratic passer, the promise of rushing yards and TDs are what vault Cam into the elite fantasy QBs....
