But that’s how fantasy football works, and even though we acknowledge that there’s still a lot we don’t know about defenses or how often players are going to be targeted, there are a few things we can reasonably assume. We’re still a little leery of receivers against the Seahawks and Broncos, and we’re perhaps a little overeager to have receivers against the Saints and Eagles. Last year’s numbers only mean so much, but, in many cases, they’re still at least a partial indicator of how defenses will fare this season....
Next week is one of the toughest we’ve had all season for the top D/STs, and there are plenty of potential streaming units on our full waiver list. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for TE, which only features a couple of realistic sleeper options. For the most part, this waivers/free agency period is all about RB handcuffs, so in addition to the guys who shined this week, it doesn’t hurt to grab some backups playing behind injury-prone starters (Chris Ivory/T....
Justin Tucker may regain his rightful spot as the best kicker in the league facing the Browns, but you have to like Tavecchio against the Jets. On the other hand (or foot), virtually any kicker could find himself in the top spot this week. The guys in dome games (Patriots-Saints, Packers-Falcons, Cardinals-Colts) always have an advantage, and we know guys kicking in Denver (Cowboys-Broncos) have a better chance of connecting on long-distance kicks....
