According to News.com.au, Kelly Lacey, who works as a bird coordinator for the New South Wales Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES), has been looking after populations of birds she suspected were poisoned from eating mouse bait. On Monday, she reportedly went to check on a flock of approximately 100 galahs in a Parkes, New South Wales cemetery—but what she discovered was a horrifying scene, in which all but two birds were found dead....

Arrest records from the sheriff’s office in Charlotte County, where Punta Gorda is located, identify the man as 44-year-old Ian Crimi. He was charged with criminal mischief to a religious establishment and trespassing. The latter charge was unrelated to the vandalism incident, Punta Gorda police told Newsweek. Crimi remained in custody on Wednesday, with bail set at $5,000 for the former charge and $3,500 for the latter. Members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church congregation notified police of the vandalism incident on Saturday, according to southwest Florida’s NBC2 News....

Jaime Javier Amogueafonseca, 32, was detained by officers from the Tampa Police Department over the weekend and charged with aggravated child abuse after they responded to a home at about 1:30 a.m. The boy, who remains unidentified, is 14 years old, Tampa’s NBC affiliate, WFLA, reported. A police arrest affidavit said Amogueafonseca claimed he had been “possessed by a spirit and was smoking a cigar during the ceremony.” Police said people had gathered in the home of the victim’s mother, a friend of the suspect, to take part in a ceremony of the Santería religion—which spread in Cuba after being introduced by enslaved people from West Africa, the BBC reports....

On the afternoon of Sunday, May 23, Tyler Worden, 41, visited the Vero Beach home of his 20-year-old daughter, Kristin Worden. He brought a pizza for them to eat together, but she told him that she wasn’t feeling well and asked him to leave, according to an arrest affidavit. The daughter told police that her father became angry and refused to leave. He allegedly argued with her in the doorway of her home....

Forty-seven-year-old Stephen Irvin Saunders is facing a charge of felony burglary of conveyance with assault or battery for the purported road rage incident. The girl, who was not named by police, accidentally cut off Saunders on Dec. 16 while driving in Tampa, according to a criminal report affidavit. It stated that Saunders then “became enraged” and followed the girl in his car to an intersection where he stopped at a red light and exited his car....

Safraz Shadeek Shakoor, 25, was arrested in Clearwater, Florida early Tuesday morning after breaking into a neighbor’s truck and swiping a 6-pack of toilet paper, according to the arrest affidavit. Shakoor is said to have taken the pack of Smart & Simple brand toilet paper, which typically retails for $1 at the Dollar General chain, from the white Dodge Ram of a neighbor, who had left the vehicle unlocked....
