The Ocala Police Department said a 9-year-old boy has been charged with attempted first-degree murder. They were called to the Berkeley Pointe Apartments on Northeast 7th Street on Monday to reports of a stabbing, reported WFTV. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 5-year-old girl with multiple stab wounds. She was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her current condition is unknown. The Florida Health Department tracks all COVID-19 cases, vaccine and death statistics on a weekly basis. For the week of August 27, there are 129,240 new cases—22,612 fewer than the previous week. This is the first significant drop in new cases in the last 10 weeks. A smaller decrease of 1,222 cases occurred during the week beginning August 13 when compared to the previous week. The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park posted photos to Facebook, showing two of its resident cranes in one of the park’s bathrooms. “We’ve set them up with food, water and comfortable perching. David Randolph White, 50, was detained on Sunday by deputies from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) after being identified during an investigation conducted alongside the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. An arrest affidavit found by The Smoking Gun states that Martin Skelly, of St. Petersburg, Florida was arrested Saturday for allegedly possessing methamphetamine “in a 28 gauge needle on his person.” The 41-year-old was reportedly discovered with the drug-filled needle at a Clearwater McDonalds after a “suspicious person call” had been made by an employee at the restaurant. “During processing a PCSO deputy discovered a small bag of crystal powder substance wedged deep within the belly button cavity of [Skelly],” said a police officer quoted in the affidavit....
Sebastian Police responded to a Walmart parking lot Tuesday at 7:46 a.m. after reports of a possibly deceased woman in a vehicle. According to a statement from Police Chief Daniel Acosta, when officers arrived at the scene they discovered a woman dead inside a black Chevrolet pickup truck. According to Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper, William Conway Broyles, 57, shot and killed his wife Candace Lynn Broyles, 57, in the living room. He shot and killed his daughter, Cora Lynn Broyles, 27, in her bedroom as she was waking up. Leeper said William then “busted through the door” of his son’s bedroom and shot his son, Aaron Christopher Broyles, 28. He then left to grab another gun and shot him again, WJAX reported....
