A Florida Highway Patrol trooper said that Summer Watkins and Yordan Nao, both 24, engaged in sexual activity after being placed in a patrol car when Noa was pulled over for driving with a suspended license early on Thursday morning. School officials quickly launched an investigation after a video of the incident at Bartram Trails High School emerged online last week. Fort Lauderdale’s Holy Cross Health closed its maternity ward on Monday. In a statement, the hospital attributes the closure to an increase in COVID-19 infections among its maternity staff members. “Due to the COVID-19 surge, Holy Cross Health has reached critical staffing levels in Labor and Delivery. In the best interest of patient safety, the Labor and Delivery unit is on diversion until further notice,” wrote Holy Cross spokeswoman Christine Walker in a statement....

Matthias Ajple, 43, approached MAGA hat-wearing Robert Youngblood, 67, at a restaurant in the city of Vero Beach on Friday evening, according to an arrest affidavit. Youngblood told an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office deputy he was sitting at the bar of Hurricane Grill on 943 15th Place with two friends, when Ajple walked over and said: “You should go back to Russia you f*cking communist.” Ajple then slapped the brill of Youngblood’s hat, before leaning over a gate and spitting on him, the victim claimed....

Connor Michael Proleika, of Tampa, was detained by a Clearwater Police officer shortly after 2 a.m. on November 22 and is facing a charge of racing on highways. The suspect violated his probation linked to charges in Hillsborough County, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Proleika told authorities he had not been aware the other driver was a police officer, according to an arrest affidavit published by the Pinellas County Clerk....

The Palm Beach Post reported that Brandon Mark Magnan, 37, turned up at Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday afternoon and lied about being an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps to get past presidential security checkpoints. According to a criminal complaint, Magnan was in a Honda Pilot when he bypassed two security checkpoints that are usually manned by U.S. Secret Service members and deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at around 3 p....

Albert Narvaez, 28, threw urine “all over” Broward Assistant State Attorney Andrew Newman at a courtroom in southeastern Florida on Wednesday, the Miami Herald reported, citing a Broward Sheriff’s arrest document. Newman is the prosecutor working on Narvaez’s case. “The urine went inside his mouth and all over his clothing” at Broward Circuit Judge Susan Alspector’s courtroom, according to the arrest report.
