David Harris was apprehended in Ascension Parish by Louisiana State Police on June 24. The 51-year-old was booked on charges of aggravated crimes against nature and indecent behavior with children under the age of 13. When he’s released from Ascension Parish Jail, Harris will be booked on several outstanding warrants in Orleans Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish. Those charges include sexual battery, attempted third-degree rape, aggravated crimes against nature, indecent behavior with juveniles, obscenity and witness intimidation....

Late last month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the marketing of the Q-Collar, a device worn around an athlete’s neck that is supposed to help protect an athlete’s brain from repetitive impacts, for athletes over the age of 13. Research has previously indicated that children and adolescents are more likely to sustain concussions than athletes at the collegiate level. A 2015 systematic review from the University of Calgary published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that athletes who played rugby, hockey, and American football experienced concussions at a higher rate than in other sports....

According to a review of 43 cases by the New York Daily News, several federal judges in the Southern District of New York handed down sentences that were an average of 58 percent lower than what federal guidelines recommended. Each of the cases involved pretrial incarcerated individuals who could not afford their own attorneys. Police said the attack took place Saturday during a delivery on Pleasant Dale Hollow Road, just north of Kampsville, a village in Calhoun County. Calhoun County Sheriff William Heffington said the victim “had severe bite wounds to his arms and legs. It was pretty bad,” Illinois’ RiverBender.com reported. Heffington said the man—identified as Paul Gmoser by the victim’s brother—was in a “pretty serious” condition and “will likely be in the hospital for some time....

No one is sure what started the war between F13 and the black gang known as the East Coast Crips in the Florence-Firestone area of unincorporated L.A. County.
