Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that the shooting occurred at a gas station in the 15400 block of W Little York Road, at 10 p.m. on Sunday, although the incident began at a nearby home. A husband and wife confronted an intoxicated male who they saw allegedly masturbating outside of their daughter’s window, according to the sheriff’s office. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, which is marketed under the name Comirnaty, became the first coronavirus vaccine to receive full FDA approval last month. Around the same time, President Joe Biden announced a plan to offer booster shots to every U.S. adult who had received a two-dose vaccine beginning this week, although the plan stalled and was ultimately altered following intense debate among health officials. On Wednesday, the FDA approved limited boosters for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines at least six months after recipients aged 65 and over received their second dose....

A clinical trial found that a single IV infusion of bamlanivimab and etesevimab “significantly reduced” the risk of hospitalization and death from COVID-19 during 29 days of follow-up compared to a placebo in patients with the virus who were at a high risk of progressing to severe disease. The trial enrolled 1,035 non-hospitalized adults with mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms who were at high risk for progressing to severe COVID-19 and either gave them a single infusion of 2,800 milligrams of bamlanivimab and etesevimab or a placebo....
