Dennis Libonati, 68, of Homosassa, was released from the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center in Pasco County, Florida on Monday after he was sentenced on a misdemeanor battery charge to 265 days of probation and anger management classes earlier that day, according to The Smoking Gun. Libonati had reportedly been held in jail since his arrest in mid-March. At around 10:30 p.m. that evening, authorities responded to a “complaint of a suspicious person in the parking lot of the LOL [Land O’ Lakes] Detention facility,” according to a criminal complaint....

Florida’s state Senate passed the bill by a vote of 36-2 on Thursday, with the proposal having previously passed in the state House by a 94-24 vote. Holly Donohoe has placed large signs outside the Vintage Arts Decor Studio in Jacksonville, telling customers that face masks are required inside the boutique. According to a press release from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest stemmed from an initial call on January 8, when officers responded to a home in Venice, Florida, to assist the Sarasota County Fire Department “on a medical call involving an unconscious child who was not breathing.” The child was only identified as being a 21-month-old. Maria Jurgilewicz, 45, of St. Petersburg, was pulled over around 2 a.m. ET by an officer from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department in order to “check the well being of the driver for sick, injured or impairment.” She had reportedly been swerving and driving in a dangerous manner. The officer observed that Jurgilewicz’s speech was “slurred and mumbled,” and she had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, according to the arrest affidavit....

McMullen’s initial hospital stay lasted only four days before she was sent home. Less than two days later, she was back, having degraded to the point where she had significant difficulty breathing.
