The Douglas Christian Fellowship Church, located on the 2700 block of East Baker Highway, Douglas, quickly went up in flames and turned the building to rubble on Wednesday night. Officials said the fire took less than 10 minutes to destroy the building. The fire started around 7:15 p.m. during service. No injuries have been reported and everyone was able to successfully evacuate. Rangers from a State Forestry Commission office across the street from the church saw the fire and alerted everyone inside to evacuate, according to a Fox 5 report....

The American Meteor Society (AMS) said on Facebook it had received more than 100 reports of a fireball being seen over Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and the Canadian province of Québec at around 5:38 p.m. ET on March 7. NASA Meteor Watch said it had also received reports of the fireball, with analysis showing that the meteor occurred over northern Vermont, first appearing at an altitude of 52 miles above Mount Mansfield State Forest in the north of the state....

Resident Jessica Fitch shared the video she captured over a year ago of what seemed likely to be a happy ending. Instead, Fitch captured the cat being knocked out of the tree by firefighters, only to fall straight to the ground. The video, viewed over 3 million times, showed various firefighters attempting to bring the cat down to safety, with one holding a ladder and another appearing to shake branches in a bid to remove the cat....

“San Francisco just made history as the first ever U.S. city to reach an average of $5 gas,” GasBuddy head of petroleum analysis Patrick De Haan said in a Thursday news release. The city’s record is “likely just the beginning of a larger trend” in California as gas prices continue to rise across the nation, he added. Several states have reported price jumps of 20 cents per gallon or more in the past week, according to data from AAA....

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) spokesman told Reuters on Tuesday that a person, who traveled to Seattle from China, was diagnosed with the virus. It’s the first known case of the virus in America and comes as the World Health Organization (WHO) is preparing to meet to decide if the outbreak constitutes an international emergency. The virus, known as 2019-nCoV, is a strain that hasn’t previously been identified in humans, according to WHO, and causes a type of pneumonia....

According to Horse & Country, an equestrian sports channel, a horse can weigh anywhere from around 661 to 2,204 pounds (300 to 1,000 kg). French Polynesia’s TNTV television channel reported it took four men and nine hours to get the black marlin, which are normally found in the tropical regions of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, out of the water.
