Police in Vancouver, Washington, were contacted May 31 after 32-year-old Wesley Palmer and his baby’s mother brought the child, then 2 months old, to the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center emergency room, according to The Columbian. In an affidavit for probable cause, a doctor said the infant was not breathing and was having a seizure, so he was transferred to Randall Children’s Hospital in Portland. After looking at the baby’s CT scan, doctors determined he had a skull fracture and several old and new brain bleeds....

A bit of an “unfortunate terminology,” the name “Operation Warp Speed” tends to “subliminally suggest reckless speed,” Fauci told PBS NewsHour on Thursday. However, speed doesn’t always mean officials are cutting corners, he said, and development of the coronavirus vaccine is being doing speedily and safely. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, maintained his long-standing projection that there could be a safe vaccine by the end of the year or the beginning of next year....

On Thursday, Louisiana investigators found evidence on 51-year-old David Harris that will allow him to be charged in each state. In Louisiana, Harris is being charged with one count each of aggravated crimes against nature and indecent behavior with a juvenile in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. In August, a grand jury heard his case and issued an indictment that makes reference to two victims under age 17 and alleged offenses that occurred in 2016....

David Walker, the special agent in charge at the FBI’s Tampa office, said during a news conference Friday that the FBI executed search warrants at three locations in St. Petersburg in connection with the probe of Aleksandr Viktorovich Ionov. One of those locations was the Uhuru House, according to local stations WTSP and WFLA. Agents were seen carrying unidentified boxes out of the location for hours, WTSP reported. Newsweek reached out to the FBI’s Tampa office for confirmation that one of the raided locations was the Uhuru House, which acts as the headquarters for the Uhuru Movement, a part of the African People’s Socialist Party....

The U.S. Department of Justice introduced the Federal Execution Protocol Addendum in 2019, which sought to provide a blanket method for executions. Attorney General William Barr said the multiple drugs normally used in lethal injection procedures would be replaced by the single drug, pentobarbital. Many states use different drugs during their executions. The lawsuit filed on behalf of the four death row prisoners says the addendum violates the Federal Death Penalty Act of 1994....

Resident Rachel Porter shared the Nest camera footage to her TikTok account, which she alleged was originally posted by a neighbor to NextDoor. The platform allows neighbors to share posts and information about their area to each other.
