Antonio Brown (ankle) has been inactive the past few weeks, so his owners know what it’s like to be without him. However, with Tampa on bye this week, owners of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will also be missing their stars. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are also out of commission, so let’s just hope the next time they take the field it will be with Russell Wilson (finger). You can’t use Terry McLaurin this week, either, and we hope you haven’t been counting on any Lions’ WRs at any point this year....

School lunches have long been objects of disgust and disbelief, but according to a newly released USDA study, the esthetic shortcomings of mystery meat and green gelatin are the least of the problems plaguing cafeteria food. What kids are getting on those plastic trays is a shortcut to heart disease. Typical school lunches get 38 percent of their calories from fat and 15 percent of calories from saturated fat. The guidelines for Americans, established by the USDA itself, call for a diet of no more than 30 percent fat and 10 percent saturated fat–and many nutritionists consider even those percentages too high....

Nathan Creer was arrested after an argument at Memorial Stadium during Saturday's game against Michigan State, university police Chief Jeff Christensen said. "(Creer) resisted and obstructed the officer's efforts to remove him from the incident," Christensen said....

Yan Cheng, 17, died on Wednesday, January 29, in central China’s Hubei province, the South China Morning Post reported citing Beijing Youth Daily which had spoken to officials. Hubei is at the epicentre of the outbreak of the new coronavirus that has killed almost 200 people. The cause of the boy’s death was unclear. Cheng had cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder which can make it difficult for a person to move and maintain their balance and posture....

Health care workers across the country are receiving the Pfizer vaccine for the new coronavirus, and an FDA committee endorsed the approval of an emergency use authorization for a second vaccine from Moderna. But clouding the bright news this week about the vaccinations have been record-breaking numbers of daily cases and deaths. “We’re sitting here talking about vaccines, which is such a positive thing, but all of this is sort of bittersweet because … as we’re moving ahead with what will ultimately be the answer and the final solution to this, we’re living through very, very difficult times,” Fauci told the Today show on Friday....

In an interview with BlackPressUSA TV, National Newspaper Publishers Association president Dr. Benjamin Franklin Chavis Jr. asked Fauci about claims by Russia that it would have a coronavirus vaccine approved in the next few weeks. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on Thursday: “We could have a vaccine tomorrow, we wouldn’t be safe or effective, but we could have a vaccine tomorrow....

In a study of NIH funding published in The BMJ, my Johns Hopkins colleagues and I found that in the first year of the pandemic, it took the NIH an average of five months to give money to researchers after they were awarded a COVID grant. This should be unacceptable during a health emergency. Consider the question of how COVID spread—was it airborne or spread on surfaces? (Remember all those people wiping down their groceries?...

In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America on Tuesday, host George Stephanopoulos referenced President Donald Trump stating that some states should consider reopening, and asked Fauci whether a co-ordinated national strategy on this issue is needed. Fauci said the reopening guidelines issued by the White House in April are the national strategy. One step involves seeing a downward trajectory of flu-like illnesses and COVID-like cases reported within a 14-day period before graduating to the next phase....

During a virtual interview with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Fauci was asked about the recent decision in France to impose a nationwide mask mandate and if he could see something similar happening in the U.S. “As we all know, our society, from the beginning of the Founding Fathers, is a federalist society, in which the states have certain prerogatives and powers and responsibilities,” Fauci said during the interview. “I can say as a public health official that I would urge the leaders, the local, political and other leaders, in states and cities and towns, to be as forceful as possible in getting your citizenry to wear masks....

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden, made the comments during Wednesday’s press briefing by the White House COVID-19 Response Team. “We have examples of people—they may not necessarily be pilots, maybe there are some—who actually have gotten COVID and have had an unexplained but real impacting on their ability to function normally,” Fauci said....

Some of the buildings making the list had strange shapes while others were determined to be bland. The J. Edgar Hoover Building serves as the headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and placed as the second ugliest building in the world behind the Scottish Parliament Building in Edinburgh, Scotland. The results were determined by a survey that was conducted by Buildworld, a building material supplier. Buildworld conducted the survey, mostly consisting of United Kingdom and United States buildings, by compiling tweets about the buildings’ architecture, and analyzing the tweets through a tool called HuggingFace to calculate the percentage of negative ones....

Agents who entered Mar-a-Lago on Monday were reportedly searching for classified documents which the former president allegedly took from the White House. Sources close to the investigation told The Washington Post these included papers related to nuclear weapons. Newsweek spoke to five experts to get their views on what the unprecedented raid means for the reputations of both the FBI and Trump himself. Speaking to Newsweek, Todd William, founder of Reputation Rhino, said Trump is likely to use the raid to fire up his base....

The second-division United Soccer League side has announced it will hold a press conference on May 29 regarding “a significant announcement about the future of soccer in Cincinnati” with MLS commissioner Don Garber among the the guests. FC Cincinnati Owner and CEO Carl H. Lindler III, team president and general manager Jeff Berding and Cincinnati mayor John Cranley will also be in attendance. The language, including an “announcement” on “the future of soccer”, is similar to previous MLS expansion announcements....

The diagnostic test, produced by clinical laboratory conglomerate LabCorp, allows individuals to collect test samples while avoiding physical contact with physicians. Its clearance was issued under an extension of the FDA’s original Emergency Use Authorization to LabCorp in March, which permitted its administration of COVID-19 RT-PCR assessments. Licensing for home collection followed a request from LabCorp to the FDA earlier this month to expand authorization so patients could perform at-home tests....
