Johnson had a bit of a down year in 2014, failing to catch 100 passes or reach 1,000 yards while only scoring three times. Keep in mind, though, Johnson was working with slop at quarterback for the second straight year and was clearly running out of patience. Even though he’ll be 34 heading into Week 1, playing with Andrew Luck should help him feel a little spry – the same thing that appeared to happen with Reggie Wayne in 2012 when he caught 106 of 194 targets for 1,355 yards and five touchdowns (he turned 34 during that season)....

Beckham Jr.’s status for Sunday night’s game against the Cowboys has been anyone’s guess all week, and heading into the Week 1 early-afternoon games, it remains a mystery. One plus is that he did travel with the team to Dallas, so chances are he’ll try to warm up before the game and see if his ankle can handle it....

The biggest name that needs to be back in your consciousness for Week 16 is Kerryon Johnson (knee), who looks likely to be activated from Injured Reserve then. He doesn’t have a great matchup (Denver), but it’s not often you can pick up a running back of his talent this late in the season. Joining him in the picture above is Patrick Laird, who probably isn’t close to as talented but should get high volume against a bad Bengals team in Week 16....

Making the most of every roster spot early in the season can pay off handsomely down the line. Maybe you just freed up a spot because one of your players became IR-eligible (Godspeed, Javonte Williams); maybe you recently dropped a couple of fringe veterans (hasta la vista, Jarvis Landry). Use the free space to invest in a potential lotto ticket — a player who you expect to see a usage spike, breakout opportunity, or return from injury....

A total of 24 receivers had more than 1,000 yards in 2019, but only two, Detroit’s Kenny Golladay and the Rams’ Cooper Kupp, scored 10 TDs or more.
