It was another strong week for the Mock Draft Army as the group completed another three drafts — one 12-team and a pair of 15-team mocks — with an extremely strong group of both writers and readers. It’s always nice to see the game level stepped up when you have a strong draft room. And not only has the level of play been raised, but the chatter in the draft rooms continues to increase with discussions of ADP, rankings and analytics....

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) deputy president, Dato’ Abdul Mokhtar Ahmad has decided not to contest in the upcoming FAM’s 53rd Annual Congress Meeting next month. According to Mokhtar, he has decided to withdraw from all positions that he currently holds at FAM, as well as at Football Association of Selangor (FAS). Mokhtar told the press that it is time to for new people to come in and lead the association, and his withdrawal is done in the best interest of FAM....

Lithuania and Latvia both outlawed the Communist Party in their republics, and Riga even arrested the Latvian Communist leader-but a day after the Russians had already suspended activities of the Communist Party in Moscow....

The businessman, who masterminded behind one of the biggest corruption scandals in U.S. Navy history, had been just three weeks from sentencing when he escaped. In 2015, Francis, better known as “Fat Leonard”, pleaded guilty to bribery and fraud charges, defrauding the U.S. Navy of at least $35 million. He admitted using more than $500,000 to bribe officers of the U.S. Pacific-based Seventh Fleet for classified information on American warship movements....

Thomas Haining was 19 when he shook his three-week-old daughter Mikayla Haining in June 2017, inflicting “catastrophic and unsurvivable” brain injuries, the BBC reported. The baby girl died shortly afterwards at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, Scotland, prompting an enquiry led by Police Scotland’s major investigations team, police said. Haining, now 21, had been charged with murder but prosecutors accepted a guilty plea to the lesser charge of culpable homicide at the High Court in Edinburgh on September 11....

The grandmother told a reporter with the Charlotte-based WSOC-TV her 2-year-old grandson and his parents were visiting her at her home when the incident occurred Sunday evening in Gastonia, the largest city in Gaston County located west of Charlotte. The young boy is believed to have thought the weapon was a toy and was playing with it while alone in the house with his father when the gun went off, the unnamed grandmother told the station....

David Buck, 67, shot his son Chad, 43, with a handgun on Christmas Day after an argument escalated into violence in Waterloo, Iowa. Officers arrived at the 1300 block of East Airline Highway after receiving reports of shots being fired, according to a statement from Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Deputies, according to KWLL. Deputies determined that two adults had been arguing when the altercation occurred, leaving one man injured from a gunshot wound....

Jimmy Hoffmeyer, the girl’s father, is suing the school district, a librarian and a teacher’s assistant, alleging that the girl’s constitutional rights were violated. The suit also alleges there was racial discrimination, ethnic intimidation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery, MLive.com reported. Hoffmeyer said that a teacher had cut the girl’s hair to even out the differing lengths a couple of days after a classmate cut her hair on one side, the AP said....
