Nineteen workers at a Lahore branch of the popular fast food chain Johnny & Jugnu were held in police custody overnight on Saturday after they had repeatedly been threatened by police for refusing to give them menu items free of charge, according to statements from the restaurant and police officials. The restaurant staff posted a statement on their Facebook page, saying “This is not the first time something like this has happened with our kitchen teams at our restaurant, but we want to make sure this is the last,” as translated by the BBC....

When police arrived around 6 a.m. Friday at the property in Middleton, they said they found Paul Salvaggio, 54, covered in blood with a large kitchen knife as he attempted to leave in his SUV. Police said officers boxed him in his driveway before Salvaggio exited the vehicle and started walking towards the garage. Police ordered him at gunpoint to drop the knife and get down onto the ground....

Deputies were called out to Knox Bridge Highway near Scott Hudgens Drive in Canton, Georgia at around 11:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a major collision involving four vehicles. According to the authorities, the crash occurred when the driver of an F-150 (a Ford pickup-style vehicle) heading east crossed the center line and hit a Nissan Armada SUV traveling west. The driver of the Armada and his 18-year-old daughter who was sitting in the back of the SUV were killed....

Karyn Maria Gonzalez died in her mother’s apartment in Tempe, Arizona, on Sunday, May 16, according to the Arizona Republic. Tempe police officers raced to the apartment after being alerted at 8:45 p.m., where they found Karyn with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Detective Natalie Barela of the Tempe Police Department said on Tuesday that investigators believe Karyn found the gun under a piece of furniture and then shot herself....

ORIGINAL STORY California police are investigating the shooting deaths of two people identified as the father and stepmother of former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon. The bodies of Robert Gordon, 68, and his wife Sharon, 57, were discovered Wednesday afternoon in a home in Orange, an upscale suburb near Los Angeles. Lorenzo Perez, 45, was working at a food stand when a man posing as a customer approached him, Fresno Police Lt. Israel Reyes told reporters. The killer gestured to Perez to come over as if he was going to purchase something before he took out a gun and shot the food vendor on Pierce Street. The gunman took off, and Perez was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died....

Bryan Kohberger, a 28-year-old criminology PhD student, was detained by state police and FBI agents near the city of Scranton, Pennsylvania, more than 2,500 miles from the murder scene in Idaho. Speaking to ABC News Steve Goncalves, father of 21-year-old Kaylee, said “we are on the path to justice.” Kaylee, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Ethan Chapin, 20, were attacked in a shared student house at 1122 King Road in Moscow, Idaho....

Speaking on Tuesday, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), warned that allowing the season to extend into the fall and winter could represent a significant danger to public because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. “If the question is time, I would try to keep it in the core summer months and end it not with the way we play the World Series, until the end of October when it’s cold,” he was quoted as saying by the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday....

The Washington Post reported Friday that in the minutes after suspect Ricky Shiffer allegedly tried to breach the office in Cincinnati, the Truth Social account with his name posted the message: “If you don’t hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I.” The account reportedly shared more than 370 posts in the past eight days that touched on unsupported claims of election fraud, as well as the FBI....

FBI agents and other federal authorities executed warrants at the Magnolia Mansion Hotel at 2127 Prytania Street in New Orleans on Wednesday. Several large packages were seen being removed from the property, which is owned by former boxer Fouad Zeton. It is unclear why the FBI were carrying out a raid at Zeton’s hotel. The agents were reported to have spent about three hours at the property. Zeton told WDSU-TV that “the truth will prevail” but did not give any further details about the search at his property....

The FBI and police are still searching for Michael Harrell, 54, after he allegedly entered the U.S. Bank on Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, on the morning of July 29 and handed the teller a letter demanding money. However, Harrell had written his note on a piece of paper which had his name and address on the other side. “When the teller took the note, and looked at it and looked at the other side, she saw his name....

The calls allegedly made false claims about the COVID-19 pandemic to spur people to buy health insurance, the FCC said. The fine is the largest ever proposed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), according to the agency. The TCPA, passed in 1991, places restrictions on certain telemarketing phone calls, text messages and facsimiles, as well as restricts the use of artificial or prerecorded voice messages and automatic dialing systems, according to the FCC....

“Patients may be injured if they wear face masks (such as surgical or non-surgical masks and respirators) with metal parts and coatings during a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exam,” the warning says. The FDA specifically states that metal parts like nose pieces, nanoparticles (i.e. ultrafine particles), or antimicrobial coating that may contain metal “may become hot and burn the patient during an MRI." As a result, the organization “recommends patients wear face masks with no metal during MRIs....
