Two videos posted to YouTube by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville used drone footage to reveal the tornado damage in Bowling Green and near Saloma. The drone video taken above Bowling Green shows dozens of damaged homes and fallen trees across several blocks. Some homes appear to be partially flattened, while others were destroyed by the tornado. Several damaged cars can also be seen in the video....

“We urge focus on clear communication so that flight attendants and other frontline workers are not subject to more violence created by uncertainty and confusion,” the union, which represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants across 17 airlines, said in a statement. Reports indicate that flights from Munich to Los Angeles’ LAX airport and to Miami will be affected on Thursday and Friday. Flights from Frankfurt to Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Houston, and Detroit have also been cancelled for those dates. Frankfurt flights to Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco, and Miami will only be affected on Thursday, while flights to San Diego will only be cancelled on Friday. The Points Guy also advised all travelers booked with Lufthansa to keep an eye on their flight statuses, just in case....

According to NWS, recent rainfall and additional overnight rain of around one inch will result in rising river levels on the Tiffin River at Stryker in Williams County, Ohio. The weather service has forecast that river flooding will persist through the week from tonight. In the latest warning report, the stage of the river was at 8.2 feet and rising yesterday at 9:00 p.m. local time. The flooding stage is 11 feet....

The Senate Education Committee unanimously approved the bipartisan bill on Tuesday. If passed by two other committees and the Senate, the bill would require school districts to create learning plans to teach students about the benefits and risks of social media. Furthermore, it would provide a strict definition of social media, a first for a Florida state law. Republican Senator Danny Burgess is sponsoring the bill, telling the Associated Press that children are “losing their innocence more and more every day” due to the content they see online....

Florida now has 10,207 people hospitalized with confirmed coronavirus cases, a number that surpasses a previous record the state set on July 23, 2020, when 10,170 people were hospitalized, according to the Associated Press. The Sunshine State is now leading the nation per capita with COVID-19 hospitalizations, with an average of 1,525 new adult hospitalizations a day and 35 daily pediatric hospitalizations. Those numbers come just one day after Florida recorded its highest single-day COVID-19 case number, with 21,683, as the Delta variant continues to spread through predominantly unvaccinated communities....

The school announced Tuesday that it has suspended athletic activities after five football players tested positive for COVID-19. Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin issued a statement that said the suspension of activities was out of caution. “Out of an abundance of caution, team activities are paused as of Tuesday afternoon. Head coach Dan Mullen has been in communication with football players and their parents, and I have had conversations with the Southeastern Conference office, last week’s opponent Texas A&M, and this week’s opponent LSU,” Stricklin said....

In an advisory, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said that boaters planning to enter Cuban territorial waters must get permission from the U.S. Coast Guard or risk fines of $25,000 a day and 10 years in prison. “It is illegal for boaters to depart with the intent to travel to Cuba for any purpose without a permit,” the advisory said. Bringing foreign nationals into the U.S. illegally could be slammed with $250,000-a-day penalties and five years in prison, the department warned....

A spokesperson for Jackson Health CEO Carlos Migoya told The Miami Herald that DeSantis said 75 of the nurses would be ready to immediately serve in hospital intensive care units (ICU) where COVID-19 patients with the worst symptoms typically receive treatment. Among other tasks, the governor said the new nurses will help isolate patients who visit county hospitals for non-coronavirus-related reasons but end up testing positive for coronavirus. Approximately 30 to 40 percent of visiting patients fit this description, the Jackson Health System reported....

Alain Luis Forget, 58, of Lakeland, was detained by agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office yesterday shortly after 10:15 a.m. in the city of Eustis, according to inmate records posted online. He was held on charges of lewd and lascivious battery on a child less than 16-years-old and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor, according to a media release....

Action News Jacksonville reported that police were called to Southeast Brawley Terrace with reports that Watts was high on methamphetamine and acting erratically. While police were on the scene, a second 911 call was placed by a homeowner who said that a person was in his yard with a flashlight. Deputies went to the complainant’s home, where they spotted a flashlight being turned on and off and heard unusual noises....

According to police, Hunter Mills asked his girlfriend to meet him near Phil-dirt Inc., a construction company in Crestview where he was employed. After she arrived, Mills became agitated the unnamed woman wouldn’t answer his questions. He then reportedly used a tractor to pour dirt onto the roof of the 2010 Cadillac sedan she had arrived in. The car, it turned out, belonged to someone else. Mill’s girlfriend was not injured in the incident but as the vehicle’s windows were open, dirt filled into the center console, air vents, and open window....

According to the news station, a witness spotted Steven Dariff clearing brush with a large tractor near Takoma Farms Road in Daytona Beach in June. When a 6-foot gator left the water and approached Dariff’s tractor, he reportedly “scared the gator away” by hitting the water with the tractor’s mower blades. But the interaction didn’t stop there. The witness reportedly told officials that when the gator came back onto the bank, Dariff drove towards the alligator and dropped the mowing blades on top of it, severely injuring the gator....
